Godrej India Culture Lab Leadership Programme

Each year, we speak with humanities students across Mumbai about the Leadership Programme and how they can be a part of it. Their disciplines range from architecture and design to media studies and sociology. We introduce the students to the Lab and the programme and ask them to apply for the internship with an idea for change. The applicants then go through a rigorous selection process after which we select 5-7 Fellows who form our Leadership Programme batch for the year.

Applications to the Leadership Programme now remain closed, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

About the Programme

This intensive internship for humanities students gives our selected Culture Lab Fellows a deep-dive into the city’s cultural industry and introduces them to the various aspects of culture. Our programme is structured around three pillars:

Special classes from industry experts doing fascinating work in the cultural field - from art, to activism, to theatre and journalism and so much more.

The curriculum for the programme largely explores what we like to call applied culture studies, as well as the culture sector we’re located in.

Capstone Project

Previously, the capstone project meant that the batch would curate an event with the Lab. Due to the ongoing pandemic, we’re looking at the 2021 batch working on an entirely online, multimedia project. Alongside the Lab team, they will be working on all aspects of it - from writing to designing to hosting! Check out what the 2020 batch did here.

To apply for the programme you must be a student enrolled in a humanities Bachelors/Masters degree programme in Mumbai. For example, B.A., M.A., B.Arch., BDes, BMM, BFA and so on.

How to apply

Currently, applications to the Leadership Programme are closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
