In this Friday Funda, Dr. Payton MacDonald gave a talk and a demonstration on Indian and Western fusion music. He performed American maverick John Cage’s “Raga Music,” a unique piece that blends East and West aesthetics. Dr. Payton also gave a short talk about various composers and performers exploring fusion music in the present time, including artists such as Zakir Hussain, Terry Riley, Michael Harrison, Reena Esmail, and many others.28 March 2014
