'Home' by Steevez Rodriguez - Queeristan
Steevez Rodriguez exhibited his photo project ‘Home’ at our Queeristan event in January.
It is a personal project for him and he believes that the space we call home reflects who we are. He writes “Home is where each person lets go of their inhibitions and the masks they wear for society so that they can be who they want to be. When I went to shoot the women in their homes, they were incredibly welcoming. Eventually we became friends, and I often land up at their houses just to have a conversation with them.”
This series was in collaboration with the Aravani Art Project, a collective movement working to enable the transgender community through visual art, awareness & social participation.
Queeristan was a two-day Pride month event which featured spectacular events exploring intersections that shape Indian queerness.
