Archiving Partition
This panel discussion took place at Museum of Memories: Remembering Partition held on August 4|5|6. This three day pop up museum was packed with a range of discussions, performances, screenings, exhibitions and much more, all united by the common thread of Partition.
In this discussion, Mallika Ahluwalia of The Partition Museum, Amritsar, Guneeta Bhalla of The 1947 Partition Archive, Aanchal Malhotra, author of Remnants of a Separation and Kavita Daiya, author of Violent Belongings shared with us their incredible work in archiving the histories and memories of the Partition. From objects that evoke the feeling of belonging in Remnants of a Separation, to the Tree of Hope at The Partition Museum, these collections of testimonies are creating a legacy of the Partition that makes us reflect on our past.
