The NGO he founded in 1980 - Bachpan Bachao Andolan has led the rescue of over 83,000 child slaves from 144 countries and developed a successful model for their education and rehabilitation. It is largely because of Kailash ji’s work and activism that the ILO adopted Convention No. 182 on the worst forms of child labour, which is now a principal guideline for governments around the world. The life and work of Kailash Satyarthi have been the subject of a number of documentaries, television series and talk shows.
