Dancing Queens : A Celebration of India's Transgender Communities

In April 2014, India’s Supreme Court recognized the third gender in a landmark judgement. However, not much is known about the aspirations, lives and struggles of our country’s transgender communities.

On November 18, the Godrej India Culture Lab was proud to host the Dancing Queens, Mumbai’s premiere transgender-led professional dance contingent, in a collaborative performance curated by our Lab’s very own scholar-in-residenceJeff Roy

Breaking Free - Life Gets Better Together!

Through a multi-format event which included a panel discussion and the screening of two films the event spoke about LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender) inclusion – both within and outside the workplace.

Wandering Women: The Feminist Docu Film Festival of India

Did feminism in India start in December 2012 in reaction to the Delhi gang-rape? Though sometimes it feels so, we know it isn’t true. Does feminism begin and end with responses to sexual violence? That’s another thing we know isn’t true. On India's 69th Independence Day, we kicked off a two-day festival of terrific desi feminist documentaries, which we were proud to co-host with The Ladies Finger, a feminist website.15 August 2015

Godrej India Culture Lab hosted an exclusive masterclass on the digital tomorrow with the world's convergence culture guru Dr. Henry Jenkins. The special lecture explained concepts that Dr. Jenkins has popularised over the past three decades - such as participatory culture, media convergence, transmedia storytelling, spreadability and more.10 July 2015
