Pride at Vikhroli!

Mumbai Pride @IndiaCultureLab

21 January 2017 11 AM - 7 PM

The Godrej India Culture Lab celebrated Pride 2017 in Viva Vikhroli. We collaborated with KASHISH, South Asia’s largest queer film festival and the Gaysi Family to present a whole day of queer programming at the Lab.

The first half of the day was dedicated to the best films from KASHISH, South Asia’s largest LGBT festival. Across three sections - 'Trans Lives Matter', 'Queering Gender' and 'Pushing The Envelope' - 12 critically acclaimed short films were screened.

The Gaysi Family explored queer desires in the second half of the evening. They curated an engaging panel discussion with founder and creative art director of Studio Kohl Mira Malhotra, hair/make up artist Elton Fernandez, filmmaker and founder of Solaris Pictures Sridhar Rangayan, faculty in Communication Studies at Northwestern University, Jeremy Birnholtz and moderated by the editor of The Gaysi Zine, Priya Gangwani.
