The Godrej India Culture Lab, in collaboration with Lakmé Fashion Week and Bungalow 8, hosted a special conversation to kickstart this fashion season. Parmesh Shahani, head of the Lab talked to acclaimed designer Rahul Mishra on life after winning the Woolmark Prize, and Rahul's endeavour to take Indian textiles to global markets.

A Post Graduate from prestigious National Institute of Design, Rahul Mishra won the Best Student Designer of the year award in 2005 and followed it up in 2006 by winning the Pride of NID award. After creating waves on the Indian emerging designer's scene, Rahul went on to be the first non–European designer to win a full scholarship to the Istituto Marangoni, Milan.

Rahul first showed as a Gen-next designer at the Lakme Fashion Week in March 2006. Since then his focus has been on augmenting the demand of handloom products and to improve the condition of Indian weavers. Rahul has won a slew of awards in the past few years, ranging from the Pepsi MTV Youth Icon 2009, to the recent prestigious 2014 Woolmark Prize in Milan. He was the first Asian to win this prize.

This event was also in association with Godrej Nature's Basket.
