The Godrej India Culture Lab invites you for an advance screening of the documentary From Durban to Tomorrow followed by a conversation between the filmmaker Dylan Mohan Gray and founder of SANGRAM, Meena Seshu, one of the five frontline advocates featured in the film.

ABOUT THE FILM:
Nineteen years ago, mass protests of people living with HIV in Durban, South Africa, gave rise to a series of unprecedented advances in global public health. Many of these gains are now in peril, placing millions of lives at risk. In From Durban to Tomorrow, five frontline advocates from different parts of the world put a human face to this crisis and the intensifying battle for a rights-based future in global public health. ABOUT THE SPEAKERS:
Dylan Mohan Gray is an award-winning Indian and Canadian filmmaker based in Mumbai. His documentary feature Fire in the Blood premiered at Sundance and went on to enjoy the longest theatrical run of any non-fiction film in Indian cinema history. He is currently developing several fiction and non-fiction projects.

Meena Saraswathi Seshu is the General Secretary of the Sampada Grameen Mahila Sanstha (SANGRAM), a health and human rights NGO based in the rural districts of western Maharashtra and north Karnataka in India. SANGRAM addresses social inequality and promotes justice among marginalized communities discriminated against because of sexual preference, sex work, HIV status, gender, caste and religious minority.

This event is free and open to all. The film will have English subtitles and there will be a sign language interpreter for the conversation that will follow the screening.
