Kashish Mumbai International Queer Film Festival is the biggest LGBT (Lesbian Bisexual Gay and Transgender) Film festival in India and South Asia. Since its debut in 2010, Kashish has today become one of the important annual events in Mumbai's cultural calendar. The Godrej India Culture Lab hosted a special Pop Up edition of the festival on 10 May 2013.

So Heddan So Hoddan

Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai, a medieval Sufi poet, is an iconic figure in the cultural history of Sindh. His remarkable poems are sung by many communities in Kachchh and across the border in Sindh (now in Pakistan).These songs speak of the pain of parting, of the inevitability of loss and of deep grief that takes one to unknown and mysterious terrains. Umar Haji Suleiman of Abdasa, in Kachchh, Gujarat, is a self taught Sufi scholar; once a cattle herder, now a farmer, he lives his life through the poetry of Bhitai. Umar’s cousin, Mustafa Jatt sings the Beths of Bhitai.

Love! Some say it’s a feeling that can never be explained in words. Some say it is a journey of emotions. Love makes the world go around…Love is a many splendoured thing... (In that case, why do I hate you like I love you?) This Valentine’s Day (or rather, the day after), the Godrej India Culture Lab hosted a very special talk and book reading by Annie Zaidi, someone who’s written an entire book in trying to decipher this strangest of all emotions. Love Stories #1 to 14 is a book full of interesting tales of love.

In the desolate streets of Mumbai, empty after threats of nuclear annihilation, Sarita can only think of one thing. She must buy the last pomegranate that remains in perhaps the entire city for her physicist husband Karun, who has been mysteriously missing for over a fortnight. Jaz – young, cocky and handsome – is also looking for his own lover. Traversing the surreal landscape, always under the pervasive influence of the Bollywood cinema megahit Superdevi that some blame for sparking religious fanaticism, both Sarita and Jaz find themselves drawn to the patron goddess Devi ma, supposed saviour of the city.
