Vkhroli Skin was a magical one-day experience in Vikhroli that the city cherished. On December 14, Mumbai witnessed an incredible pop-up event that expanded the boundaries of what an art happening could be like. A 200 thousand square feet Godrej warehouse hosted art + fashion + technology + performances + video + food + lots more...for just ONE DAY ONLY!

Vikhroli Skin – Stage Talks and Performances

  1. Mumbai Moulting: Erasures and a Palimpsest, curated by Anjali Purohit, featuring Marathi folk music by Amarendra Dhaneshwar (powada and lavni), and poetry by, Mustansir Dalvi, Menka Shivdasani, Anju Makhija, Anand Thakore, Anjali Purohit, Rochelle Potkar, Smita Sahay and Shona Urvashi
  2. Kabir Café - music performance

  4. Talks by Dr Priti Shenai, Cosmetic Dermatologist, Nikhil Velpanur on creating Brahma3 – India’s first 3D printer, and a poem by Suki Dusanj

  6. Talk by magician Ugesh Sarcar on sharing and spreading happiness
  7. Kamathipura ki Zindagi" – a short play by Kranti
  8. Talk by Laxmi Narayan Tripathi on “Living within a different skin” as a transgender person

  3. The Bombay Paperie – “Touch” – special installation made of hand made paper.
  4. Mumbai Boss – Gola Ghoda and blind food tastings using local "exotic" ingredients
  5. Manisha Prasad – Handcrafted edible designs.
  6. Rajneesh Gore Installation - “Resting by the tree... thinking...what next!”
  7. Adhuna Bhabhani Akhtar – Picture Story Exhibit
  8. Ecole Intuit – Special installation by 20 graphic design students
  9. RIIDL – 3D Prism that was controlled with hand gestures
  10. Pearl Shah Styling Studio – Special fashion installation focussing on handlooms featuring leading Indian fashion designers.
  11. Anjali Purohit – Erasures series of paintings featuring chawls and mills
  12. Rotaract Club of Thane North End – Shoe installation with plants

  1. Brahma3 – display of India’s first homegrown 3D printer. The founders were present.
  2. Pop-up Soap and Fragrance factory – special mini-soap factory installed by Godrej R&D center – everyone made their own soap and fragrances!
  3. Grandmother Design – live art on a FIAT taxi!
  4. The Postcard People – post-card were made, decorated and sent.
  5. Chaos Theater - Checkmate! An interactive giant chess game.
  6. Matsya - exploring the skin of Ramayan
  7. Radhika’s Fine Teas – Tea interventions through the day.
  8. Free mehendi tattoos, origami art and nail art and block printed designs – powered by Godrej Salon-i.
  9. Free “pledge for pizza” and washing machine lassi powered by Godrej Appliances
  10. Free snacks served through the day – powered by Godrej Yummiez.
