As part of a series of pre-meetings before we kickstart the Leadership Programme this summer, our Leadership Programme fellows attended the book launch of 'Dreamers - How Young Indians Are Changing Their World' by Snigdha Poonam, after which they got together and discussed their ideas in response to a question we asked them five months ago- 'What change would you like to see in Mumbai's culture?' Leadership fellow Harsh Vora writes about how they chose the final idea they would work on with us as our very first Leadership Programme Class!

For our second meeting as a build-up towards Culture Lab’s Leadership Programme this summer, we went for a special tour of ‘India and the World: A History in Nine Stories’ at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya (CSMVS). This was a landmark exhibition which the museum presented in collaboration with The British Museum (London) and the National Museum (New Delhi).

We kicked off the Godrej India Culture Lab Leadership Programme last year, visiting 600 students over six colleges. After an intensive selection process, seven students have been selected for an immersive one month internship in the month of May. The programme was started to foster future leaders for the cultural scene in the city. This is the first in a series of blogs that the students will pen through the programme!

Mumbai hosted its tenth annual LGBTQ Pride march this year. Over 15,000 people took over the streets of the city with rainbow flags, fiery slogans, and an overwhelming sense of celebration, staging the second Quit India Movement for the archaic Section 377.
